My Pursuits: Lojban

Veijo Vilva

May 2010. Lojban has for a long time been one of my main intellectual interests. It is a constructed spoken language, which I became acquainted with in the early 1990s and was very enthusiastic about from the very beginning, rather too enthusiastic. I founded and ran the first Lojban website and was also involved in polishing the grammar. Then real life intervened, and I couldn't anymore devote enough time to honing my Lojban skills and to the at times rather hectic and exhausting discussions on the Lojban discussion list, which discussions had caused me many a sleepless night spent pondering intricacies of syntax and semantics, both of Lojban and of natural languages. Consequently, I acquired some far less taxing hobbies, like making ray-trace images (had to give that up, though, again for sleepless nights) and photography.

However, times do change, and so does my life. I'm retired now after working 44 years as an IT specialist, more than 40 of those years intertwined with genetics &c., and will have more time for my various hobbies, Lojban again included. So, it is time to brush up my Lojban and get the old brain ticking - in moderation, while taking long walks and sitting leasurely in the parks.
This page is a stub.

I'll add stuff later on.
